Agrochemicals, often interchangeably referred to as agri-chemicals are defined as all chemicals that are used in agriculture. They generally cover almost all kinds of crop protection chemicals. These crop protection describe a range of products used to control pests that include weeds, insects, rodents, and microbes, such as fungi and bacteria. Apart from chemicals that are used in crop protection, chemicals such as fertilizers, manure, hormones and so on that are used in crop production also constitute agrochemicals.

Almost all modern agriculturalists use some form of agrochemicals and the key players that drive the growth of agrochemicals include Bayer CropScience, BASF, Dow Agrosciences, DuPont, Monsanto and Syngenta.
